People from all over the country will be meeting in Hartford, CT, to rally against Governor Ned Lamont’s $14 million deal with Infosys!
The rally will take place at the Elks Lodge at 34 Prospect St in Hartford, CT, beginning at 5 pm on January 26th..
Let’s pack the house and send a big message to Governor Lamont!!!!!
Here’s the meeting Agenda as we’ve scheduled it so far:
- When we wake up, GREAT THINGS HAPPEN! Welcoming remarks from Craig Diangelo, founding member of CTTechworkers.org. Craig will talk about how he and 219 other employees at Northeast Utilities were forced to train their Indian replacements (Infosys employees) as a condition of their severance agreements. He’ll also talk about how his life changed for the better, after he decided to break his silence and talk about his experiences.
- They can be beaten! Dawn Collins, a feisty leader of Protect US Workers, will tell the story of how her group helped unseat a Kansas congressman, who was trying to boost the number of Green Cards given to Indian IT professionals. She has a nationwide network of followers that confer weekly via conference call.
- How we can win. Kevin Lynn, founder of USTechworkers.org, will illustrate how the state’s $14M deal with Infosys is a failed attempt at economic development, which will actually lead to a net loss of over 10,000 CT jobs. He’ll also give a recap of some recent successful lobbying trips to our nation’s capital – and layout his vision for turning the tide.
- Our legal counter-punch. John Miano, a fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies and co-auther of the book Sold Out, will share secrets on how to prevent or delay getting outsourced by the India IT outsourcing firms. He”ll also give tips on your rights, when you actually receive your pink slip. John has been a powerful force in the fight against the India-based outsourcing firms – and the politicians that enable them. He’ll give us advice on how we can get the Hartford-Infosys deal scrapped – and hold the architects of the deal accountable.
- What we all can do to help. We’ll also devise a strategy to show government leaders and employers that the skillsets they desire are right here in the state – and importing foreign workers is not necessary.
- Meet and greet. We’ll all take the time to get to get to know each other.
